Kampala, Uganda - SHIFT Enterprise Academy is proud to announce its participation in the Trans Africa Investment Summit 2024, taking place from November 7-9, 2024, at the Silver Springs Hotel in Kampala, Uganda. The summit, themed “A Global Gateway for Development Collaboration between Africa and the Diaspora,” will bring together key players from Africa and the diaspora to explore opportunities for innovation, collaboration, and sustainable development.
Organized by the Women's Entrepreneurship Forum Africa (WEFA), this highly anticipated event will feature distinguished speakers from across various sectors, focusing on partnerships in renewable energy, infrastructure, agriculture, and technology. Hon. Okaasai Sidronius Opolot – Minister of State for Energy, Republic of Uganda: Officially opening the summit with a keynote address on Uganda’s energy sector, Hon. Opolot will launch the EnerGulf Minigrid Project and the WEFA Innovation & Ecosystem Hub, highlighting the importance of renewable energy and technological innovation in Africa’s sustainable development.
Mr. Dejan Stancer – President of the Global Chamber of Business Leaders (EU): In his keynote session, Mr. Stancer will speak on the role of global business leaders in facilitating development across Africa and creating opportunities for investment and collaboration.
Hon. Chairidee Smith – Founder, Global Mogul Center USA & Ghana; President WEFA, USA-Africa Diaspora: Hon. Hon. Bodil Valero – Global Chair, G100 Security & Defense; Co-Convener Global Greens; Former Member of the European Parliament: Hon. Valero will discuss security, defense, and the importance of environmental sustainability in Africa’s infrastructure projects, encouraging a collaborative approach for future growth.
Dr. Nosayaba Evbuomwan – Managing Director, Franosev Smart Consulting (USA):Dr. Evbuomwan will lead a session on Engineering & Innovation, discussing the latest advancements in technology and how the African diaspora can contribute to engineering solutions that drive development across the continent.
Ms. Mickal Tjituka – CEO, MicGeo Mining Investment, Namibia: Ms. Tjituka will offer a presentation on Mining and Infrastructure, exploring investment opportunities in Africa’s rich natural resources and how sustainable mining practices can propel economic growth.
Mr. William Matovu – Country Director, Heifer International, Uganda: Mr. Matovu will be part of a panel on Agriculture & Value Chains, sharing Heifer International’s experience in improving agricultural practices and building resilient food systems to benefit smallholder farmers.
